Finally! after about 4 years since I started myself in photography I got the chance to take photographs of fireworks.
I did some previous research on the Internet to make sure I was ready for the challenge. Basically all you need is a remote shutter and your camera set to manual mode (M), note that the shutter speed should be set to BULB, it’s very easy, when you see the fireworks going up in the sky, you press the shutter button and hold it there until it explodes and disappears. The only thing that I kept doing between shots was checking my exposure, sometimes I was overexposed, some others I was underexposed, truth is that it varies depending on the fireworks so you will find yourself doing that constantly, but I tried my best. Also focusing was set to Manual, I didn’t tried AF so I can’t tell if it will work at all.
Here is the album of that day, please feel free to leave comments to improve my technique, working under time pressure is not my thing. Other problem that I had was editing, how can you actually make the photograph look the same way you see it? Not sure about that, even shooting in RAW I had a hard time trying to get it correctly. Overall this was a good experience, next time I’ll get better shots. I hope you enjoy it.
