Circuit Of The Americas was the host for the F1 race 2014 in Austin, Texas. As an engineer I like the science involved in the making of these cars. I am not a sports follower, I am the kind of guy who prefers to practice the sport rather than to watch others have fun. Other than the superbowl I really don’t watch any sport. That being said, my number one priority was to take photographs and have fun.
Once again the lack of appropriate equipment caused my photographs not to be the best ones out there. I was shooting with a Sony Alpha A77 and 18-135mm lens. most of the time I was using 1/8000 of a second to be able to freeze the action, my ISO was set mostly at 640 and the aperture was varying from shot to shot. I did experiment with S and A modes, both giving good results. I would preferred to shoot with my Nikon D610 but I only have a 50mm F1.8 lens and that camera’s fastest shutter speed is 1/4000 of a second so I´m not sure how that would have turned out. Anyway I think the results are acceptable.
The event was closed by Kid Rock’s concert! One of my favorite artists since 2002. It was also my first concert ever, so I guess it was a very good weekend.
Here are the photographs.
